Artspace is deeply saddened to share the loss of Terry Dolan — a dedicated Board Emeritus member, longtime board leader, trusted advisor, and friend.
Terry served on the Artspace board from 2004 to 2022, and in 2023, we were honored when he accepted an emeritus position. He was a steadfast and ardent champion of our mission.
Terry viewed philanthropy as a way to “participate in creating vibrancy” in daily life. He was drawn to Artspace’s mission in action, recognizing a deep alignment between his personal values and our work. His leadership helped expand Artspace’s national impact, and his enthusiasm for our projects never wavered.
Among the projects he helped champion were Space to Create Colorado, the Pullman Artspace Lofts, the Bell Artspace Campus in New Orleans, and our work with the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. He was a key supporter of these efforts and believed deeply in their long-term impact—not only for the artists and residents they serve, but for the broader communities they help sustain.
Terry Dolan’s legacy will endure in the causes and initiatives he supported and in the many lives he touched through his leadership and generosity.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
