Artspace’s redevelopment of Northrup King Artist Lofts buildings 2 and 3 will create 84 live/work units for artists and their families, as well as provide amenities such as an on-site management office, a gallery space in each building, a large laundry room accessible to all residents, a shared workspace, and a bicycle storage area.
Building 3: A lobby/gallery space in the middle of the building is open and accessible to people walking from Stormwater Street through accessible stairs and a ramp.
Building 2: The design features space for an on-site leasing manager, a kitchenette, a gallery space, and a secure package room. The space opens up to Stormwater Street and is accessible by ADA-compliant ramps and stairs.
A laundry space in building 2 is available for residents with outside access on the north side of the building.
Live/work spaces throughout the two buildings consist of 23 one-bedroom units, 35 two-bedroom units, and 26 three-bedroom units. Live/work units range from 30 - 80% Area Median Income (AMI). Building 2 will feature 40 units and shared workspace on levels 2 through 6. Building 3 will feature 44 units and a shared workspace on level 1. The images show typical unit floor plans for these buildings; as well as examples of other historic, industrial spaces that Artspace has adaptively reused.
