Artspace will announce campus expansion plans around the Northrup King Building (NKB) at the building’s October First Thursday event! Please join us from 5-9 pm Thurs., Oct. 7 at the Northrup King Building (1500 Jackson St NE / Minneapolis, MN, 55413). The event is free and open to the public.
First Thursdays are part of a long tradition of monthly events at NKB—the largest building of artist studios in the state of Minnesota—which opens for the public to tour studios, meet the artists, and shop the art. The October 7 evening will expand upon past First Thursdays to include live music by Mwago Kuria; traditional English pasties from Potter's Pasties; and a presentation by Artspace Rafala Green Fellows Shalom Cook and Pablo Lituma, who will share results from their Radical Asset Mapping Project in Northeast Minneapolis. Announced NKB site improvements will include the addition of affordable live/work housing on campus, stormwater management, and more, revealed to the public through QR codes scattered throughout the existing building.
