Arts New Orleans’ mission is to improve the quality of life in New Orleans by supporting, activating, and investing in the city’s greatest natural resource: artists, cultural producers, and the creative community. Their vision is “Art in Everything.” They believe art and artists should be central to all community and economic development efforts – from public health to public safety, education to infrastructure.
Program Goals
As the official community arts agency for the City of New Orleans, Arts New Orleans hopes to create a space that is open and accessible to the arts and cultural community. The COVID-19 pandemic forced them to downsize and move out of their office space in 2020. They are looking forward to building a new space where they can host community meetings, public art design charrettes, panel discussions, and artist training. In particular, their new space will serve as a creative hub and studio space for their Young Artist Movement program, where youth can come to be inspired and connected to the arts community.
